What are Credit Hours?
A credit hour represents the instructional workload of a course. Most US and Pakistani universities use 3-credit courses as the standard unit.
'Credit hours' is a US and Pakistani academic unit; India's 'credits' work similarly.
Definition
1 credit hour ~ 1 hour of lecture per week across a semester (~15 weeks). Labs typically count as 1 credit per 2-3 hours per week.
How they weight GPA
Every course's grade points are multiplied by its credit hours to get quality points. Total quality points divided by total credits gives your GPA.
Full-time enrolment
A full-time semester is usually 12-18 credit hours; below 12 is part-time in most US systems.
