Final Grade Calculator
Tell us your current class grade, the grade you want, and how much the final is worth. We'll tell you the score you need.
Formula: needed = (target − current × (1 − weight)) ÷ weight — assumes your current grade excludes the final.
Grading policies differ by university, department, and academic year. Use your institution's official calculator or transcript office for anything that counts (transfer credit, scholarships, honors).
How this works
Current grade must exclude the final — it's the grade you'd earn if the course ended today, based only on graded work. The formula then solves for the score on the remaining final exam that pushes your overall course grade to your target.
Formula
needed = (target − current × (1 − weight)) ÷ weight
Example
Current 87, target 90, final weight 25% → needed = (90 − 87 × 0.75) ÷ 0.25 = 99%
