Grading policies differ by university, department, and academic year. Use your institution's official calculator or transcript office for anything that counts (transfer credit, scholarships, honors).
How this works
Your cumulative GPA (CGPA) is a credit-weighted average across every term. To roll a new semester in, multiply your prior GPA by the credits it was based on, add the new term's quality points, and divide by the combined credits.
Formula
new CGPA = (prior GPA × prior credits + Σ(letter GPA × credits)) ÷ (prior credits + new credits)
Example
Prior 3.4 over 30 credits + A(3) & B+(4) this term → (3.4×30 + 4.0×3 + 3.3×4) ÷ 37 ≈ 3.44
