Anna University Regulation 2021 (R21) Grading
R21 uses a 10-point letter grading scale with credit-based semester assessment. Here is how CGPA is computed under R21.
Regulation 2021 (R21) is Anna University's latest UG grading regulation and follows the AICTE model with a 10-point absolute grading scheme.
Grading table
O = 10, A+ = 9, A = 8, B+ = 7, B = 6, RA (Reappear) = 0 until cleared.
SGPA and CGPA
SGPA = sum(Ci x Gi) / sum(Ci). CGPA = sum(SGPA x Cr_semester) / sum(Cr_semester). Both are capped at 10.
Percentage conversion
Anna University typically publishes CGPA x 10 or CGPA x 9.5 as an equivalent percentage; departments confirm the exact multiplier.
